This replica of the Dark Crystal, modeled after the crystal from Jim Henson's 1982 masterpiece, measures 29 inches as it sits in the themed base of the Ceremonial Chamber and hangs high above from the shaft of air and fire. The Crystal of Truth, created when the planet Thra was formed, acted as the beating heart of the planet, maintaining the connection to all the creatures that inhabited it.... until the age of division. The Dark Crystal, broken by the cruel Skeksis, was used by the Skeksis to trap malevolent energies to prolong their own lives while contaminating Thra with the harmful energy known as the Eclipse. This translucent dark crystal is removable from the base and has been carefully crafted with detailed, engravings that tell the story of the Crystal of Truth. When placed within the light-up display base, the crystal is illuminated, bringing to light its gleaming magenta tones.
