How to grenade ice cubes

rinse the grenade silicone mould halves with water
squeeze the halves together firmly, preferably going around the whole mould once with your thumb and index finger (it is important that all sides are pressed together well, otherwise the liquid will leak out)
fill the silicone mould carefully and slowly under the tap or use a small funnel for thicker liquids if available
place the hand grenade in a solid form (e.g. glass, mug, food storage box)
place the silicone grenade in the container in the freezer
to release, simply separate the halves from each other

remove stubborn dirt by soaking in washing-up liquid or caustic soda

Tips & Tricks

the very flexible shape makes it particularly easy to remove the filling
rinse the mould with cold water before filling
to avoid deformation or leakage, it is best to always fill the silicone mould on a solid surface such as a thin board, plate, casserole dish - so it can be carried safely and stably into the fridge or freezer
colour your grenade with juice or food colouring

... and a few warnings

do not use sharp, rough sponges or brushes for cleaning
despite high heat resistance, never expose the mould to open heat
don't use the mould again for making food if you have made inedible things like soaps, candles etc. in it
the mould can form a kind of thin greasy film after frequent use, which is not harmful
